From Sturgeon's very beginning, we have prided ourself on constantly improving our practices and products at every level.
For example, we pioneered the use of ultrasound techniques for sorting sturgeon. These techniques have now been adopted by fish farmers throughout the world.
R&D and innovation apply to every level of the company: in fish production (where we are working with internationally renowned scientific partners on issues such as genetics, nutrition, animal health and water quality); in marketing innovative products (reflected by the ONE developed in 2013 and in research on preservatives); and in our food workshop (where several research programmes on understanding processes and improving our caviar are in progress).
The reputation successfully built up by Sturgeon in the past is based on our pioneering, innovative spirit. We are now firmly convinced that innovation is essential to retain our leading position on what has become an extremely competitive market.
